In brief: You can use the core Scripture pause and the complete offline World English Bible reader without a 5:16 account. The selected-app controls and reading state stay on your iPhone. Optional hosted AI questions have a separate disclosure before anything is sent.

What stays on your iPhone?

Your selected app tokens, Screen Time authorization state, passage interactions, allowance deadline, saved verses, notes, and reading position are held on the device. The free core does not require a 5:16 account. Turning protection off stops 5:16 from shielding your selected app; you can also revoke Screen Time permission in iPhone settings.

What happens if you use hosted AI?

A founder-only prototype can send your question, the exact verse reference, and up to six recent turns from that conversation to a 5:16 service and OpenAI to generate an answer. The app must show a first-use disclosure before that transfer. The service supplies the relevant World English Bible text by reference. App-selection tokens, notes, and reading history are not part of that request. AI answers can be wrong and are not reviewed theology or pastoral advice.

The hosted conversation is a test feature; it is not required to read the Bible or use the core pause. Public availability, account design, retention periods, and production privacy terms must be decided and published before a wider release.

What does this website collect?

This site has no sign-up form, advertising pixel, or first-party analytics script. Standard request information such as your IP address and browser details is necessarily processed by the hosting infrastructure to serve pages. We do not ask for Bible notes, Screen Time selections, or AI questions on this website.

What about purchases?

No paid plan or public installation is offered yet. The planned Pro features are labeled as planned on this site. Any future subscription would use Apple's purchase flow and require updated terms before sale.

What is still being verified?

The founder beta has a known timed re-shield defect, disclosed in the product guide. The next public privacy notice will include a verified support contact and the final hosted-AI data and retention terms before public release.
